Pregnant Goat Who Escaped the Slaughter Truck and was Living Dangerously by a Highway is Triumphantly Rescued

Now, her and her little daughter goat are living a life they never imagined possible, safely in a sanctuary.

A dog rescue called Buddha Dog Rescue on TikTok usually posts their rescues of dogs on their page. Beautiful stories of healing and happiness. It's not easy rescuing dogs. Recently, however, they deviated from their usually canine content to save a lonely goat. This little missus was determined to continue living and hopped off a truck headed toward slaughter. She lived months on the side of a highway on a very steep hill. Goats are good at steep, so she was kind of thriving actually. But when the weather started to take a turn, Buddha Dog Rescue couldn't just leave her there.

So they set up a trap and hoped they'd be able to capture this determined goat before the blizzard got too out of control.

Though it took many hours and a lot of patients, she eventually was caught in the trap. She was not about to give up however and was still fighting for her life. You can see in the video, that the second the trap closed on her she was ramming her head at every angle to try and find a way to escape out of there. She had no idea that her life was about to change for the better. One of the rescuers at Buddha Dog stepped in and was eventually able to calm the goat down. Once the baby was settled down a bit, they were able to transport her to a sanctuary.

Fittingly, they named the goat Blizzard. Also, little did they know at the time, but Blizzard was about to be a mama. She gave birth to her kid soon after arriving to the sanctuary—they named her baby girl Raindrop. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. If that kid was born outside during that blizzard, she surely would not have survived. Now the two are living happy, healthy, and safe lives on the sanctuary.

Though the rescue doesn't usually deal in goat rescuing, they couldn't stand the thought of this little goat alone on a steep hill, by a dangerous highway, in the middle of a blizzard. It's a beautiful story that this little farm animal fought so hard for her life and is finally able to life the beautiful life she deserves.
