Even after an adjustment to their numbers earlier this year projected the company would see a ¥35 billion loss for 2013, Nintendo's financial statement puts it at an annual operating loss of ¥46.4 billion ($457 million US) and a net loss of ¥23.2 billion ($22.8 million). Only 2.7 million Wii Us were sold in the last year, bringing the lifetime total to 6.17 million (the PlayStation 4 has already sold 7 million consoles since November). The 3DS has brought in a total of 43.3 million sales (2.2 million 2DS), which falls below projections but remains healthier than the Wii U. Iwata claims there will be no short-term fallout from this result.
