Hate your job? Have you considered just not going most of the time?
Apparently, Joaquín García, a 69-year-old Spanish civil servant has been doing just that for the last six years. He was fined $30,000 for not showing up to work when officials finally found out in the process of awarding him for 20 years of service.
García claims that he did show up to work every day but often left because there was no work to do. He was afraid that if he mentioned it to anyone he would lose his job without being able to find another one. So, instead of explaining his situation, he continued collecting his paycheck and started studying philosophy in his unofficial early retirement.
