Happy birthday, my friend. And rather than giving you something...we're hoping you get rid of something...all those nasty termites!

Oh, by the way... HORRIBLE pics of termite damage. Are you sure you don't want to move to Santa Fe? All we have is nice little horny toads...

Hi! Fankies for congrats...beautiful weather here all of a sudden!//John has water and electricity and can flush the toilet now, but the area in front of his gate is a mud swamp from the digging.//I'm completely obsessed with my Fitbit...got a "medal" a couple of days ago for going over 18,000...now onward and upward! You can see that this is a real trap for anyone who is OCD...how are you?

Oh that is just terrible - amazing at how much damage they can do. Hopefully he gets the rest today. Before you repair the damage make sure eveylost one of them are gone. Looks like not major structural pieces need to be replaced? We have some friens down here that hosted a Super Bol party last year. If they don't we will.

That's great news on the adoption front. Wouldn't it be nice if there was equilibrium between kittehs and furreber homes. I hate to think of furry creatures without a loving home. It's too bad you can't just set a pan of termite nip on in the middle of that room and have them all just come-a-running to be collected and given a nice chunk of wood in a field on a distant farm... I hope K&C aren't resenting being limited to the nursery for a time. It's better for them to be sure and this won't last too long. There's not a whole lot new out here. Things are quiet with the folks which means my life is quiet, too. No complaints.

More horrors for poor John! They can't replace his smashed sewer pipe until they get some special part (old pipes) from ABQ! So...possibly no toilet until Monday...John is losing his normal cheerful demeanor!

Mornin' How goes the termite saga? I sure hope not a lot of structural dameage.

Fankies! How is everything? New thing in John's saga: the electric diggers smashed his sewer pipe. He has to come here to use facilities. He is deciding this is not such a great adventure after all...

Oh, good! Glad you are maintaining your usual good attitude...remind me again what bunco is? Some card game, right? I'm so glad K. and C. are protected. Look forward to RL pics. Here we have had snow for 2-3 days...but it's a little too warm to do anything but turn into slush except at night, when it turns into a skating rink. John has had RL up the wazoo. On the night of the main snow a pipe burst (STOOPID neighbor, after our annual fall pleading that people disconnect hoses from pumps, left town with doing so...water froze and pipe burst. The plumbers came and dug down, restoring water, but then the power went out...he spent the night huddled in many blankets and reading by a camp lantern. We had to use cell phones because he and about 4 other neighbors had no power and I kept asking him to come HERE, but I think he was enjoying the adventure. Well, compared to the problems of most the rest of the human race, this is absolutely nothing. Anyway, it's still snowing! And still not sticking! We need a BIG SNOW. One that leaves great drifts here and there.

Darn! That's a good reason to move to SF...I don't think we have those monster termites. (We do have lots of juniper, though.) Anyway, hang tight...breath deeply...think calm thoughts...
