Twitter Thread: A Tale Of Jellyfish And Manliness

This fun Twitter thread captures the painful experience of being stung by a jellyfish while diving out at sea, and what has to happen for one to recover from that sting. One with a bloated ego can certainly be humbled very quickly. Sounds like that particular dude was. Maybe the cups are the move the next time.

Twitter Thread Spins Tale Of Macho Men, Urine, And A Single Jellyfish

It's been a while since we shared an entertaining Twitter story with y'all, and we're happy to be able to change that today. Twitter user @enswelljones shared this hilarious tale from his teenage years last Friday, and it's responsible for the kind of serious out-loud laughter we wish happened more often. The scuba-diving anecdote is the perfect kind of humbling hilarity that we love to see played out in real life. Reading this amazing takedown of masculinity is almost as satisfying as seeing it in person.

Andrea Mangoni, a worker in Venice, told Reuters that due to the low tide and low traffic amidst Italy's lockdown restrictions, marine life has been appearing in the now still waters of the canal.

"I was able to film a jellyfish that was swimming close to the San Marco square, only few inches below the water surface," Mangoni said.

Attilio Rinaldi, a professor from the Department of Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences at Italy's University of Bologna, confirmed with Reuters that the jellyfish species seen in the video is called the rhisostoma pulmo.

Absolutely crazy how magical it is to see all this marine life in those canals!

This Dolphin Turned a Jellyfish Into a Beanbag

These gents were enjoying a nice day on the water when they saw a sight that they and most everyone will never see again. A dolphin entered the bay near these Danish sailors, and they watched and followed as it literally threw and caught the jellyfish in the air. At one point it even lost the living beanbag, but soon found it and continued on with its game. Pretty sure PETA will file a complaint against the dolphin for animal cruelty, but it's unlikely to get very far between the judge's guffaws.

Check out the full story of this juggling dolphin, and find out exactly the Danes had to say about the whole experience.

You Thought That Sting You Got At the Beach Was Bad? Try One Of These On For Size

You've probably seen at least a few of the pictures of exotic locales with some of the craziest, and sometimes dangerous jellyfish in the world. But this monstrous specimen was found in the English Channel of all places, off of the coast of Cornwall. Better still, the jellyfish appeared out of the murk on the last day of Wild Ocean Week, which was a day to promote local fish species and understanding of the species living all around them, as well as to raise money for the Marine Conservation Society.
