Comedian Applies To A Job At NASA, Gets Hilarious Rejection Letter

In the words of the great Wayne Gretzky, you miss 100 percent of the shots you never take. Apparently comedian Alex Falcone decided to live by that motto when he applied for a job at NASA that he was comically unqualified for. Predictably, he was promptly rejected from said job, but lucky for us NASA sent him an incredibly amusing and snarky letter in return.

Watch The First Moments of NASA's Crew Dragon Spacecraft Launch

Don't have time to watch or fast-forward through 6 hours of filler coverage? We've grabbed the perfect shots from SpaceX and NASA's joint spacecraft launch of the Crew Dragon. This is the first commercial spacecraft in history to bring astronauts into space, and was designed by the tech giant Elon Musk with his SpaceX commercial space program. With the launch a complete success, and the window narrowing after inclement weather, the successful launch was a massive achievement for commercial space travel, and the potential is massive for scaling this to even greater heights. Next stop, Mars.

Launch highlights of the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft as it carries two astronauts into space to the International Space Station as the first commercial spacecraft to bring astronauts into space. The cover gif is an immediate close up and then zoom out of SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft launching and the thrust trail it leaves as it rockets into the atmosphere and into space.

Scientists May Have Discovered A Parallel Universe, Internet Reacts

WTF is 2020, y'all. Honestly at this point should we even ask questions? Because absolutely nothing is surprising to us anymore. In this installment of apocalypse bingo, researchers found evidence that there may be a parallel universe where the laws of physics and time appear to operate in reverse. Many others are also skeptical of the findings, so take everything with a grain of salt. But of course, that hasn't stopped memers from reacting in the best ways. See some of the reactions below!

Funny reaction memes and tweets to scientists discovering a potential parallel universe | Kronk Emperor's New Groove NASA news: High-energy particles Antarctica could prove parallel universes 's another one Apocalypse Bingo! | Captain America Astor George @grandpabbychuck choking my parallel universe doppelganger who has better life than so can take his place.

NASA's Latest Planned Conquest - A Close Up Of The Solar Poles

NASA is at it again. This time they are looking toward the Sun and examining regions of it that have not been seen up close up until now. But they're not alone either. NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) have joined forces to potentially change our understanding of the Sun and how it affects Earth. The goal of the 7-year mission is to launch a satellite to orbit the Sun and take pictures of the Sun's poles for the first time in history.

A Joint NASA and ESA (European Space Agency) project is working to send a probe to the Sun to examine the northern and solar poles. The cover photo is of a digital rendering of the craft as it approaches the surface of the Sun

Six Educational GIFs About The Planets

Space is an interesting place, but it can be hard to wrap your head around some of those out-of-this-world concepts. So what better way to learn facts about space than with GIFs? Here are six interesting and educational GIFs made from videos by Dr James O'Donoghue, a planetary scientist based at the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Enjoy learning, space cadets. NASA Scientists Discovered Water Vapor on Jupiter's Moon Europa

Extra extra read all about it. Europa, one of Jupiter's and the solar system's most iconic celestial bodies, has been examined by NASA scientists, and the results are pretty astounding. Though in recent times Mars and exploration of the "Red Planet" has taken the spotlight and held it in the public eye. But Europa is trying to change all that.

Footage Of The Boeing Starliner's Abort Test (8 GIFs)

The Boeing Starliner capsule, which is planning to transport people to and from the International Space Station in the near future, successfully completed an abort mission - although one of it's three parachutes failed to deploy. At the time, few photos or videos were taken of the capsule's short flight. New video footage has just emerged, and we've made some sweet GIFs so you can view it's journey in GIF form. If you want to know more about the Boeing Starliner capsule, read our comprehensive article about it. Otherwise, enjoy the GIFs!

The Hubble Telescope Gave Us an Incredible Look at Saturn's Rings and Moons

Amazing what a mere collection of water and ice and a few rocks can turn into. Saturn's rings are one of the most incredible sights in the night sky, and in space overall. Though their make up is unremarkable, since the 1970s when the Pioneer and Voyager spacecraft visited the system and gave us our first close-up look.

What's more amazing is that unlike many other celestial bodies in our universe, that we need to physically reach in order to get a clear picture of, Saturn is close enough that we can get images like those below.

The Hubble Space Telescope just gave us incredible views of Saturn's rings and the movement of its moons around it

The Next Mars Mission Is Going To Include a Space Helicopter

That is not a typo. NASA has been hard at work developing the technology for the next mission to Mars. Part of that are the modules that will be part of the rover. An autonomous helicopter would be able to take pictures never seen before, and reach areas that the rover on the ground, would take far longer to reach, and might not even be accessible.

NASA designed a helicopter to be used on the next Mars mission

Extra Extra Read All About It - NASA Boss Thinks Pluto IS A Planet

Though downgraded to dwarf planet status, Pluto has been on the comeback trail of late. Many issues arose with the reclassification in 2006, including that only 424 of the 9000 members of the international organization in charge of making such decisions voted. In addition, immediately after the resolution, hundreds of planetary scientists petitioned against the changed classification. The problem began when the body changed the definition of what constitutes a planet, and due to Pluto lacking several of these features, it was demoted.

A recent mission to Pluto by NASA called New Horizons, recently gave us our closest and clearest look of Pluto and the surrounding planetary bodies in its area and orbit.

NASA Administrator goes on record stating Pluto is a planet. 13 years to the day that Pluto was reclassified, scientists reexamine the evidence.

Super Blunt Twitter Thread Demystifies Pooping & Peeing In Space

When  Hugo-Award winning writer Mary Kowal penned a New York Times essay about gender bias in space, she did not expect a wealth of responses claiming that women we kept from space travel due to a lack of adequate bathroom technology. The concept that only women would face issues relieving themselves was so preposterous that Kowal took to Twitter in hopes of enlightening the masses with some serious space potty history.

In the thread, Kowal manages to destroy some seriously absurd bathroom-related gender bias and teach us a whole lot about the process of pooping and peeing in zero gravity. It's an informative yet wild and wildly funny ride, and really leaves us with the desire to observe a glove of purple piss floating out of a space toilet. If Kowal schooled you as hard as she did us, give her a follow on Twitter. She's got loads more wisdom to share.
