World Leaders Were Begging to Get Meme'd in Awkward G7 Summit 'Family Photo'

The 47th G7 Summit was held in Cornwall over the weekend, where Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, President of the European Council Charles Michel, US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, President of France Emmanuel Macron, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Angela Merkel posed for an awkward 'family photo' that was destined to get meme'd. Some other stuff probably happened at the summit too, but one conspicuously socially-distanced beach group shot sort of stole the show on social media. Keep scrolling for some of the funniest G7 memes from the clever minds of Twitter.

Poorly Aged Posts That Are Filled With Regret

We all know that hindsight is 20/20. That definitely applies to the year 2020, too. But today we're talking about a special kind of hindsight and regret. We've all seen that tweet from Hillary Clinton where she says "Happy birthday to this future President." Well, things didn't really go as planned. Today we're here to cover some of the regretful and poorly aged posts that you may not have seen plastered over the internet. You know, posts regarding the horrendous winter storm that struck America's heartland this week. Or, perhaps, posts that deal with some woefully ignorant Bitcoin owners who sold themselves short years ago.

Most of these regrettable situations and posts are pretty harmless. But they're a great reminder that you really need to try to think to the future before getting your hopes up - or your hopes lost. One thing's for sure, it always helps to laugh through the pain.

Coworker Pulls A Ron Swanson, Replaces PTA With Her Own Organization

When this woman had had enough of her PTA's drama-causing antics she proceeded to infiltrate their system and work her way through the ranks until she was in a place of effective power. From there she showed all that PTA's Karens who the real boss was. Basically, she dissolved the previous team and replaced it with one of her own. Job well done.

The Unbearable Wholesomeness Of Marianne Williamson's Birdposting

Twitter is often a hellhole of negativity, histrionics, and preachiness. Political Twitter? It's gotta be a hundred times worse. But there's an exception to this rule, and her name is Marianne Williamson. Many of you may know her as the kooky author and spiritual leader who threw her hat into the ring during the deranged 2020 presidential campaign. But me? I know her as the provider of very necessary palate cleanses during masochistic Twitter scrolling sessions.

A month or two ago I started noticing that my favorite love-promoting political figure was posting birds with the awestruck wonder of a three year old trying ice cream for the first time. Even more entertaining was the tweet in which she admitted to deleting a photo of a starling because "Someone told me it was mean and when I looked it up I saw this verified, so I couldn't bear to put anything mean on my thread."

The responses were both beautiful (more birds!) and supportive of her newfound birdposting habits. And I've been eagerly awaiting her avian tweets ever since. This phenomenon may not be interesting to people who eschew all politicians, or, more inexplicably, don't care for birds. But I think we all deserve a little "love and light," especially considering the oft-poisonous nature of social media these days. We've put some of her more entertaining "birdposts" into this gallery, but we encourage you to give her a follow. You never know when you'll need a little bit of colorful, feathery joy injected into your day.

15 Dystopian Tweets For People Who Want To Be Depressed

Every damn day something about the world comes to light that reminds us what a terribly dystopian situation we're in. Tweets are constantly being posted that deal with everything from healthcare woes to the pitfalls of late-stage capitalism. It's difficult to keep our chins up when everything seems so damn bleak, but it's better to be informed than to live in a state of not-so-blissful ignorance. On the off chance that you want more of these upsetting tweets, you can find them over at r/BoringDystopia.

The World's Hottest Politicians To Quench Your Thirst This Week

Sometimes I feel like the politicians of the world are essentially a reality TV show. You're desperate to stop watching this trainwreck, but you just can't bring yourself to stop. And when the key players are fine AF - damn, we got ourselves quite the show going.

If these politicians had a slogan across the board, it would probably be "MPSA"- Make Politics Sexy Again. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it as MAGA, but they're sexy enough to make it work. Because hot people can get away with a whole lot of stupid sh*t. As a fellow hot person, I would know. Here's my cute, concise ranking of the hottest global leaders to date.

The hottest politicians around the globe | thumbnail text - Eduardo Leite, AKA, the dashing mayor of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Youngest ever to be appointed to the position, this political prince is more than enough to get me to learn Portugese and move to Brazil immediately. We know we're mere peasants, but please notice us, papi.

Direct Deposit Memes Reveal Twitter's Hilarious Stimulus Plans

It's been less than a week since people in the US learned that they would, in fact, be receiving a $1,400 stimulus payment. While many progressive critics have claimed it's far from enough, the general consensus from much of the public is: Hell yeah. And nobody is celebrating quite as loud as Twitter users, who have (obviously) taken the direct deposit and turned it into an extremely successful meme. Upon news of the payments, comedy-minded netizens began tweeting their big plans for the money - and most of them involve delusions of grandeur and a whole lot of plays on words. We've included what we believe to be the most amusing stimulus goals, but Twitter is absolutely brimming with these jokes. Happy scrolling.

20 Fresh 'Florida Man' Headlines Filled With Insanity

Though it's been a while since we last covered the antics of "Florida Man," the meme is still very much alive. Just take it from President Barack Obama, who namechecked the meme during his speech at FIU this past Saturday. After criticizing the current president's penchant for insulting his opponents and suggesting people inject bleach, Obama proceeded to roast Donald Trump:

"That's not normal behavior. Florida. You wouldn't tolerate it from a coworker. You wouldn't tolerate it from a high school principal. You wouldn't tolerate it from a coach. You won't tolerate it from a family member. Florida man wouldn't even do this stuff."

While some may find the joke to be a tasteless mockery of Floridians, most of us know that the meme is in good fun. Who doesn't enjoy reading about ludicrous, imaginative crimes that almost seem fake? Sensitive dullards, that's who. For everyone else, we've put together a solid roundup  of fresh Floridian insanity, with the help of @daily.florida.man. If you're looking for more, we suggest following the account. We're willing to bet Florida Man won't be calming down anytime soon.

Fresh & Funny Musings From The Wordsmiths Of Twitter

Happy Monday, y'all! We're back with fresh and (sometimes) clever tweets that were shared on Ye Olde Bird App this past week. While it kind of feels like politics have calmed down a bit since Joe Biden's inauguration, we still think it's worth avoiding Twitter. So we've put together this gallery of weird, funny and relatable tweets from some of our favorite accounts. It's not much, but it's honest work.

Video: Kid Confronts Mom Over Belief That Antifa Stormed The Capitol

Rumors of Antifa being behind the January 6th storming of the capitol began almost as quickly as the Pro-Trump rally turned into an insurrection. Many far right conservatives and MAGA gangs seemed to immediately pass the blame to the anti-fascist group - much as they claimed Antifa was behind the BLM protests. Even though the FBI was quick to debunk the rumors, it seems that many followers of right-leaning mainstream media are still eager to deflect blame and weave more conspiratorial drama.

While some of these believers will continue to swim in their seas of confirmation bias, others are apparently grapping with family members who won't stand for the BS. This viral video, in which a kid puts their mom on blast for her insistence that MAGA did no wrong, is a pretty great example of the latter. While it doesn't seem like they've changed their mom's mind, it's pretty entertaining to see mom struggle to explain something that's completely false. The reactions ain't bad either.

Andrew Yang Gets Dragged On Twitter For Mistaking Regular Store For Bodega

Andrew Yang has taken to the streets of NYC since the announcement of his 2021 mayoral campaign. His first stop was a spacious, pristine, well-lit convenience store that he featured in a video about supporting local bodegas. Anyone who lives in NYC knows that bodega discourse is a contentious subject for New Yorkers, and so it is unsurprising that Yang's message was completely eclipsed by the fact that he was not, in fact, in a bodega.

The bodega warriors of Twitter wasted no time roasting Yang for the faux pas. Many tweeted photos of Whole Foods and CVS with the caption, 'on my way to my local bodega!' Sorry Yang, but no one wins in the bodega wars. We've collected some of the funniest reactions to Yang's viral Twitter video.

In the spirit of making everyone's lives easier, we've taken the funny stuff (both old and new) and put it all in one convenient place. So you don't have to see some all caps tweet about how masks don't work or another opinion about the storming of the Capitol.
