Hi nu friend! I've been enjoying browsing through your favorites, esp the older history ones. I live in the mountains (9000ft), west of Denver; the air is...(gasp...cough...gasp) very 'fresh'.

No, I don't make a habit of hanging out on the NPR site. I found this on The Daily What. thoughts, comments, observations... http://www.npr.org/2011/08/11/139085843/your-picks-top-100-science-fiction-fantasy-books

LOL I figured some sort of mix up had happened. I'm as southern as grits and have only lived in Kentucky (for the first 8) but mostly in Tennessee. :) 'Sok, I understand. It's easy to get confused around here.

I was the one who never had pets...my husband always had dogs...Love them, but they are a lot of work...hubby is in a wheelchair most of the time so all the walking and cleaning up would be my job! kitties are so much easier! and i still work full time...

I am married...my husband just rolls his eyes and then hopes one of my rescues will be his kitty instead of following me around :D I have to say I am a big fan of Bill the Cat as well...ttthhhbbbbbt!

LOL I had to check where you were. No, our weather's a whole lot like yours - hot and hummid in the summer, cold and icy in the winter and a bit of heaven in spring and fall ... if you don't mind an occassional tornado, or the leftovers from a hurricane.

Good thinking...doing rollups for you and Chuck would allow you to make some regular ones and some with only half the flavor (tee hee). I've taken some liberties with the recipe but here was my starting point. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/lasagna-rolls-recipe/index.html I can see that the midsection of the country is really getting cooked right now. I was amazed when I woke up this morning to find that we'd gotten a bit of rain over night and our dawn walk was done in a drizzle. We're about 20 degrees under our norms. There was certainly a good deal of religion at school but as an adult I appreciate the fact that they reinforced the values that I was taught at home. All the dogma stuff has gone by the wayside. I dropped the rock of resentment on all that stuff about 20 years ago and life is much nicer now. So how are you spending your day? Wse're back from our walks. I did a bit of shopping for dinner with the folks tomorrow night. Now I'm going to settle in and watch the women's world cup

DPC is a term that you should be familiar with as you are a chairperson of a DPC. The DPC is the Domestic Planning Commission...wife type people. As this residence has no DPC, I don't have to submit reports about progress on my to do list. I also have the rare ability to prepare, amend and destroy my own to do list with no domestic fallout. I'm not saying DPCs are bad. There are many fine DPCs. I would assert that this household is more responsive to the whims of it's constituency(me) because it does not operate under the authority of a DPC.

*lol* Do you remember a Bloom County piece, Sunday, '85 or '86, where Opus has strapped on wings and then stands at the edge of a cliff and soliloquizes for several panels about the joys of flight. Finally he cries out, "Oh, rapture!" as he leaps. The next panel is one of the guys (Michael? Oliver? I don't remember) looking over the side of the cliff and saying somthing along the lines of, "Yo, enraptured one, you okay?" And the reply from Opus: "Lo, I am ruptured." Absolutely my all-time fave! I've looked for it for years...someday I'll find it again, by golly! Hope you're having a spiffy day! *hugs*

Yes, this does seem like a really nice place, with nice people...except for one person who was unkind to me one day... but that doesn't happen very often here, I'm happy to say! I'm living in Tiptonville in West TN, near Reelfoot Lake; but I was born and raised in Jackson, TN, and spent most of my life there. :)
