Every once in a while, the toy gods look down upon us and say: you have waited long enough. And today, those blessed deities have delivered Japanese Spider-Man, the 1978 tokusatsu legend himself, in glorious Hot Toys form. If you've never seen Toei's Spider-Man, do yourself a favor, the trailer is down below. This version of Spidey doesn't just punch bad guys, he summons a giant robot named Leopardon, transforms using a wrist bracelet that looks like a vintage calculator, and delivers enough dramatic posing to power an entire season of Power Rangers.
And now, Hot Toys is giving Takuya Yamashiro the collector treatment: a perfect 1:6 scale figure with his opening spider-bracelet, a full arsenal of swappable hands, web effects, and a display stand that recreates the show's title card. Honestly, it's beautiful. It's weird. It's iconic. It's everything a Spider-Man deep-cut deserves.
I absolutely love the way his costume isn't form fitting, the stitching is kind of wonky, like in the series, and you can see the actors face bulging beneath the awkwardly fitting mask. it's… amazing.
Hot Toys has covered basically every Spidey under the sun, but this one feels special. This is the Spidey who helped shape Super Sentai. The Spidey whose theme song lives rent-free in the brains of anyone who's heard it once. The Spidey who ran so the multiverse could sprint. The figure arrives between late 2025 and early 2026 and will probably cost around $250, so maybe start preparing your wallet emotionally right now.
