TikToker Mitchell Todd is an aspiring actor and singer and as many of these types of artists started out, he's currently working as a server at a restaurant. As anyone who has worked in the service industry knows, you can get some characters with a capital C. Todd recently had one of those shocking encounters.
He was the only server that day, working a very slow brunch shift. He only had one customer until a very attractive man walks in. The server starts to get his flirt on and the guy seems very nice and receptive to his flirtation. Todd is still the only server, however, and there isn't even a host that day, so he's kind of wearing multiple hats working this day—so he assures his flirting wasn't over the top. Just your usual flirty waiter banter.
However, things took a turn. The man ordered a chimichanga from Todd and after Todd dropped the food at the table he noticed that the man wasn't touching it. He waited for a little to see if anything would change, but the man was just sitting there awkwardly staring at his food. So Todd went up to him and asked if there was anything wrong. The man seemed sheepish and said he had a strange request and then proceeded to ask if Todd would spit on his food…
Todd is sure he heard him wrong, but when he asked him to repeat that he said very determinedly will he spit on his food. Todd is shocked and doesn't know what to say, so he goes with the ‘ole that’s against company policy thing. There might not be anything specific that says don't spit in a customer's meal even if requested, but it's usually implied. The customer seemed upset and kept asking Todd, so he said he'd ask his boss.
The situation was so uncomfortable for Todd that he was looking forward to pawning it off on his manager. However, his manager didn't handle it the way he was expecting… The manager talked to the customer for a little bit and then came back to Todd telling him to just do it and that he'll make some extra tip money. Todd is visibly uncomfortable and shocked. He doesn't want to go through with it, but doesn't really have any reason not to at this point.
Storytime pt. 1
Todd went up to the customer and said that his manager said for him to spit on his food, so he tried to make it quick and painless, but the customer wanted more. He needed more than just a little bit of spit. So Todd had to hock up disgusting loogie, with other customers watching, onto the chimichangas of this random man. He was mortified, but not completely upset, because he made an extra $100.
Storytime pt. 2
At first the manager wasn't even going to let Todd pocket that tip. Usually the entire staff pulls tips, but Todd felt like he earned that extra $100 by complying to some customer's weird kink even though he didn't really want to. Finally the manager said it was fine, so Todd was able to shove off what just happened and continued on with his day at work.
Moments later, however, corporate calls and the manager gets fired on the spot. It turns out, the kinky customer wrote a Yelp review right after his experience and said to “ask Tyler” the manager if you want to get your food spat in. Luckily, the server wasn't mentioned by name, but even if he was, it was still the manager's fault for allowing it to go down. So, even though Todd felt uncomfortable for that shift, he was still able to come up with an extra $100 and getting his least favorite manager fired—so not too bad of a day for him.
