Shady 7-11 Uses Chip Reader to Steal Customers' Card Info, Woman Reports Them But Police Don't Believe Her: She Turns to TikTok for Help

When it comes to scammers, it's not just phone calls and phishing emails we have to worry about anymore. With the boom in technology, scammers now have a countless amount of ways to steal from you. TikToker Anna Stover found one intricate way scammers have been stealing from her at a shady 7-11 in Eugene, Oregon.

Stover saw that someone had hacked her card information somehow and stole money directly from her account. She did some further investigation on her part and figured she'd check out the shady 7-11 she had gone to recently. When she went, she found “skimmers” on their card readers when you go to pay. Skimmers are an extra piece of equipment you put over things that read people's cards, like on chip readers or ATMS, and it steals their information. It basically scans the card while it's in there and steals the number, etc. Stover discovered the skimmer by simply pulling it right off in front of their faces.

“Casually uncovering crime, like:”

She called out the employee working at the shady AF 7-11 and he was speechless. He simply looked at her with a guilty looking face without saying one word. When she brought this information, along with the evidence, to the local police, she did not get the reaction she was expecting.

Part 2: “The Confrontation”

The police told her that she has no proof that the 7-11 was stealing from her and in fact that she was the thief and she needed to return that skimmer back to the store. Stover could not believe what she was hearing and was sorely disappointed. She kept asking the woman at the police station, “are you serious?” And the woman kept saying yes and that she fully intended on returning the item to the 7-11.

Completely shocked by this outcome, Stover turned to TikTok to let the people know what was going on—if anything, to prevent people from going to that 7-11 in Eugene, OR so they can avoid getting their card information stolen. It's insane that this issue is being completely ignored by the police without any sort of investigation. There is obviously some nefarious things going on at this store and hopefully getting this story viral on TikTok will have these scammers caught quickly.

Part 3: “Springfield, Oregon police said give the criminals back their property!”
