Woman With No Friends Posts an Open Invite on TikTok for Her Wedding, Goes Viral and Is Now Inviting the Thousands of People Who Responded

TikToker Skye aka @insanely.skye got married to her love in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, so they weren't able to have an actual wedding. So this year, she and her husband are planning a big wedding celebration. The only problem is, they don't really have any guests to invite… Skye has her sister, but everyone else in her life, her old friends and family, turned out to be extremely toxic and abusive, so she has sense left them behind. And her husband is from Peru, so his family can't really come all the way to Florida for their wedding. 

Just to pass the time as many TikTokers do, she posted a little video about her situation on the app and then didn't really think much of it. She said she doesn't have any friends and if anyone who sees the video wants to come, they're invited! She thought maybe a couple hundred people would see the video and like it but that's it. She never imagined the viralness that actually happened.

The video has only been up for a few days and already has almost 500k views. She's getting thousands and thousands of messages from people who want to come to the wedding and people offering their services to help with the wedding. Skye is not overwhelmed with the amount of invites she has to make now, but she's also overwhelmed with emotions—she went from having no friends to befriending all of the Internet. Now her wedding is going to be the biggest party of the year!

Viewers are even buying her gifts off her registry and some are fully intending to fly across state, some even across countries, to make it to her wedding.

She says the only person she had on her invite list was her sister, the only family member she is still close with, as her maid of honor. Now, she has to figure out how to have a wedding that will fit thousands and make sure her open bar will be fully stocked. And she's happy and excited to do so! She says she's also going to broadcast the wedding via Zoom for anyone who wants to support but can't make it. She even started a Twitch stream to have viewers help her plan the wedding and then some. The wedding is May of next year, so pack your bags!
