Goths in Un-Gothly Places: Turns Out These Dark-Hearted Souls Are Just Like Us

Goths weren't born wearing black eye liner and only wanting to wear all black. The darkness in their soul might have already been there, but as a lil beb you just don't know until your father takes you to the city to see that marching band and you become a savior for the broken, the beaten, and the damned. (That's a basic My Chemical Romance reference for all you know goths reading this.)

Metalcore band 2 Shadows uses their TikTok to show off their new music, their tour life, and other band-related clips. They've recently started a series called “Goths in Un-Gothly Places” that has been growing more and more viral on the app. The series shows them decked out in their goth-attire, so basically what they would usually wear on stage—blackout eye makeup, arms and neck painted black, black shirt, black vest, black pants, chains, boots, you name it—and puts them in “un-gothly” places like the beach or doing DIY projects. Also. goths on TikTok is already goths in an un-gothly places, so it's really all a great bit.

Goths in the Workshop

2 Shadows is a Canadian band inspired by goth legends such as Slipknot, Korn, and Avenge Sevenfold. So basically, these guys make sure to capture everything goth in their appearance and sound. What is goth? It's not just simply wearing eyeliner and black clothes, it's also a state of mind. That's why it's even funnier seeing these goths in “un-gothly” places. For example, at the beach you see happy family fun happening all around them, but these goths don't even crack a smile. They see a beach ball come tumbling towards them and they knife it dead.

Goths Walking Through Downtown Vancouver

Sometimes they post videos that aren't part of the series, but still work out the same. Like when they go get their $3 brunch in Vancouver. Just a couple of goths eating their Canadian bacon and eggs. These videos, however, show that though these guys are definitely no-joke serious goths, they're also sweeties that are just trying to have a good time on this spinning piece of dead rock.
