Tick Season: Woman Gets Lyme Disease From a Tick Bite, Besties Go Hard and Surprise Her With a Lime-Themed Party to Cheer Her Up

Lyme disease is no joking matter. But when you get it, sometimes you need a nice dose of what some people might consider “dark humor” in order to keep your spirits up. TikToker @laurenelizabethtemple understands this and knew her friend needed 10cc's of it stat!

You see, her bestie Emily was recently bit by a tick and because of that had contracted Lyme disease. Lyme disease causes flu-like symptoms and a bullseye-like rash at the site of the bite. Though most types of Lyme Disease is curable by multiple rounds of antibiotics, it still causes symptoms like headaches, weakness, fatigue and more for months afterwards. It's exhausting. So the TikToker Lauren decided she need to help her friend find some light in the dark situation that she was thrust into—and luckily, unlike the Vid, there is no evidence suggesting that Lyme Disease is contagious between humans. So a large gathering of friends was the perfect medicine! (Well, and the antibiotics.)

With that, she teamed up with some of Emily's other friends and started working on throwing her a surprise lime-themed party. The party included lime colored decorations, lime flavored snacks and drinks, and lime colored/themed games. They even posted a true-crime like board that showed the culprit (the tick), the victim (Emily), the scene of the crime (the bullseye-like rash around the bite wound), and the evidence (the medical results showing positive for Lyme Disease).

"Eternally coping with *dark humor*"

Some might get offended by this type of behavior—taking a serious disease that if left untreated can be detrimental and using it as a reason to party. But everybody deals with their sh*t in their own way. As long as it's not hurting anybody else, then what's the problem, dog? 

TikTokers are all about the lime-themed Lyme Disease party. “Okay this is my new standard for friendship and if they wouldn’t do this, I don’t want ‘em,” one viewer commented. “Man, that’s not how my Lyme diagnosis went. How fortunate to have such loving people in her life,” another person added. “when life gives you lymes make bud light lime,” another viewer hilariously added. 

Many people who also were diagnosed with Lyme Disease are totally jealous. They're commenting that they wish their friends would through them a lime-themed Lyme Disease party! Maybe they can all have a conjoined lime-themed party once they're all better.
