Hotel Threatens to Sue Former Valet Employees Who Called Them Out for Wrongful Termination and Discrimination on TikTok, Former Employees Fight Back

Boomers and Gen-X called Millennials lazy after they left us in a wake of a bomb economy and toxic workforce. Now they're trying to do the same with Gen-Z, but they are not having it. The notoriously feisty generation is using one of their most popular tools as a weapon to fight back, and that's TikTok.

Faith Riggs, a Gen-Z on TikTok, works as a valet for a hotel in Denver, Co. She and her co-worker recently got let go, or “forced to resign” after incidents that the Gen-Zers agree were definitely fireable offenses. However, it's not the fact that they got fired, but how they got fired. Though the initial TikTok that went viral of the wrongful termination makes it appear that they got fired for a TikTok video of them doing a dance trend on the job, the actual story is way darker.

“I wish this was a joke… Saddest day ever.”

The co-workers, Faith Riggs and Justin, who happens to be a Black man, report only to a front desk manager who seems to lack management skills. So when the two need to call out, they simply just let the other know. However, this got them in trouble for “no call no shows.” The two agree that this was wrong of them and they understand can lead to getting fired. What really caused the injustice that steered them to calling out their ex-employers on TikTok is that even though the two employees did an equal amount of “no call no shows,” it was Justin who was “forced to resign,” while Faith received a write up.

Explanation

The wrongful termination of her co-worker was so blatantly discrimination that when they told her is she did one more “no call no show” she would be fired, she instantly did a “no call no show" in solidarity for her friend.

She called the hotel out accusing them of the wrongful termination and discrimination and it instantly went viral. She posted an update saying that the hotel contacted her and told her they were going to sue unless she took down the TikToks accusing them of all their wrongdoing. That could have been enough of a threat to scare someone else into submission, but Gen-Z really have had it, and rightfully so.

“They are trying to say that I got fired this morning 😂 and they are threatening to sue me for the TikTok 😂😭 LOL sue me for what? Telling the truth?”

When asked if they were going to fight back and take legal action against the hotel, she responded with “you bet your 🍑 we are.”
