The dog is all, "weeeee, freedom!"—until the moment realizes he can't see his human anymore…
Have you ever been lost as a kid? That moment in the mall when you were playing around too much and then all of a sudden you don't see your parents. It's a devastating moment. As a little kid you've never felt fear like losing your parents somewhere you're unfamiliar with. But also, that moment when you get reunited is so joyous, it's almost exhausting. I'll tell ya one thing, you definitely learn your lesson about playing around in public when you lose your parents.
TikToker @apologyrejected posts a Go-Pro using a PetStrap to his husky named Toby. He shares the footage he gets of his happy pup running around in nature, getting to chase rabbits, squirrels, and just frolic through the fields and paths. Recently, however, he was going through some of his pup's Go-Pro footage and realized there was a moment there where is dog seemed lost.
The video shows a happy dog running and leaping through nature. He sniffs some shrubbery and is having a blast. All of a sudden the pup freezes. He looks back and forth in confusion. Turns around and looks some more. You can see in his movements his little head start to panic more and more. He starts running and stopping to sniff some more. He still pauses every now and then to look around.
The smartest tactic Toby pulled was stopping and listening. When he finally did this, he was able to hear his human walking around. The TikToker and dog father had no idea his canine baby was lost. Toby came barreling back to him, and the TikToker just thought he was coming back because he needed some water. When he offered him some, he refused and seemed like he just need a quick minute to gain his composure back. The pour baby was just running around thinking he had become a lost dog. That he had lost his human and his best friend. One viewer pointed out that this must be the POV of dogs whose owners just dump them, and gee thanks, now I'm crying.
Now, you see the TikToks of Toby with his POV maybe not rushing too far away from his pops in unfamiliar areas so quickly. In fact, one of his most recent videos shows him constantly turning around to keep tabs on his pops. I guess he learned his lesson pretty quick after that close call.
