Every culture has its own unique way of celebrating pregnancy, and birth, and sometimes even genders. Some are much more low-key than others. It's all fun and games until there are restrictions on the social gathering, yet people still insist of getting gifted luxurious gifts for their unborn child. Of all the things we do, I think baby showers and gender-reveal parties might be one of the weirdest. Why do we expect gifts for basically getting laid, or cause literal expositions to announce whether we saw a pee-pee on an ultra-sound?
It was Reddit user u/Careless_Diamond_930 user who asked the 'Am I the A-hole' community if they were the A-hole for refusing to purchase a baby gift for their cousin's second baby shower? Do people usually have baby showers for their second child?
It's important that we recognize that gifts should basically always be optional. Unless you've signed up for some charity drive-type situations, buying someone a gift should never be a requirement. Especially if there is not even going to be a party! Spoiler alert, this is a drive-by baby shower.
