20+ Strange Places With Unbearably Sad Names
It's a big wide world out there, with a lot of different things in it. Some of these are amazingly beautiful, others a bit more mundane, but all of them need a name. With so many locations out there, it's inevitable that we have to be somewhat creative with the naming process, unless we want things to get really repetitive. However, this can mean that our ideas can occasionally become pretty dark.
This is the premise for the Instagram account @sadtopographies, which documents all the weird, miserable place names you can find in the world on Google Maps.There's no Photoshop involved here, all of these are genuine place names from all around the world. Who knew that the people who named landmarks were so depressed?
