It's always nice when a terrible boss paints themselves into a corner with contractual shenanigans.
Redditor u/Sugarman111 posted to r/MaliciousCompliance to share how their sister-in-law's first job out of university frustrated them to no end due to an unreasonable boss whose girlfriend for some reason would also show up and order the SIL around, even though she didn't appear to work for the business in any capacity. When the SIL decided it was time to move on and find a new job, the boss attempted to extend her "probationary period" to keep her around longer. SIL, having gone over the contract with OP, intelligently knew that she could then only give one weeks' notice and scooted on out and into a significantly better job.
Maybe this is a good lesson about how it's always a great idea to know the rules surrounding your employment situation. For a serious reverse-loophole boss screw-over, here's the person who got fired then asked to finish a job but claimed it would violate their NDA.
