There’s nothing quite like working your butt off just for your dreams just to get smacked in the face with reality by some sh*tty company manager.
The whole idea of having a dream job, if you really think about it, just wreaks with capitalism. It's kind of sad to think that someone’s dream involves working, and for someone else too. But probably what we actually have are dream lives, and we know that in order to be able to have those lives, we gotta work. So sure, we try to think of an occupation that could potentially elevate whatever life we’re trying to live.
This woman dreamt of moving to Paris after finishing undergrad to work in her chosen field and begin her dream life. She explains that it went extremely well from the get-go and she clearly worked to get to where she was. It kind of sounds like the beginning plot of ‘Emily in Paris,’ but with a sh*tty twist.
Not so long after she began her trial run she was let go for not being a “cultural fit.” Something doesn’t sound very legal here, or perhaps just not fair.
We’ll let her explain the story in her own words.
Let’s Watch
This video was only recently posted by TikTok user @sagevanalstine, so there is yet to be an update, but she seems to be getting a lot of useful advice and validation in the comment section.
Shall we take a look?
Is it tech? My American tech company just did layoffs, which is harder for French companies to do so they cut more flexible contracts 😭 I’m so sorry!
we can thank them for our friendship tho 🤪
That is a solid French welcome 🤗 Greetings, welcome to the party, we have a corner for crying in the back and French taco stations out front 😂

The video is quickly gaining traction and we can only hope that the right person comes across it who may be able to help Sage get her life back on track. Until then, at least she's in Paris.
