Many big companies have specific workflow rules that are usually crafted by people so high up the corporate ladder, that they actually have little knowledge about day to day operations at the base level and end up making life for workers much harder. Managers are chosen to enforce these inefficient rules, which is probably why a lot of staffs end up hating their direct bosses. One redditor shared the story of their experience with a new manager who wanted things done by the corporate rules. OP maliciously complied and their boss (miraculously) learned a valuable lesson.
