Parking Enforcement Issues Unreasonable Fine, Gets A Mouthful Of Their Own Medicine
The woes of parking are not lost on us. Yeah, it's unwise to park in a loading zone for too long, but this person had reason to believe that it wasn't a big deal. And when they did get fined, this person acknowledged their parking error and paid on time. But still, parking enforcement decided that no responsible act should go unpunished. After they slapped on a secondary nonsense fine, this person decided that the gloves should come off.
It could have simply ended if officials had recognized this person's original payment, but parking enforcement decided to get into a battle of semantics, and that's never a good idea when someone is really passionate about non-trivial sums of money. Maybe the lesson is that if you're willing to inconvenience the bejesus out of somebody, you should at least be a little prepared in the event that they decide to inconvenience you right back.
