One of the few benefits of the dumpster fire that has been the past few years are the revelations that have come regarding work. When it comes down to it, most of us who work traditionally office-based roles simply do not have to be in the office if we don't want to be. While there's a debate to be had about whether this is always a good thing, there's no doubt it brings big benefits in terms of flexibility. However, not all companies are as eager to recognize this, even if they might act that way.
An anonymous job applicant recently learned this lesson after being interviewed for a position that was advertised as fully remote. After learning from an interviewer that they actually expected the successful candidate to spend three days a week in the office, they walked out on them and found themselves with a story good enough to be shared with @fuckyouiquit.
Many Twitter users were incensed on behalf of the anonymous interviewee, and some had even found themselves in a similar position. It should go without saying that we expect as much honesty from recruiters as they hope to get from applicants, but unfortunately, this isn't always the case.
