This fast food manager read his subordinate's erotic fan-fiction to the team as a prank and has taken to Reddit's r/AITA community to see if he was wrong. The two had developed a close relationship that probably crossed a few lines of professional relationships, especially when you factor in the subject matter of the fan-fiction and the manager's reaction to it. It sounds like the subordinate has developed a strong crush on her older, married, boss, and, despite being married, he has allowed and even encouraged these emotions.
This thread was posted by Reddit user u/throwawayfanficwork to the popular r/AITA (Am I the A-Hole) subreddit. This account is a throwaway for the manager, who posted their story to get the readers' opinions and see if he was in the wrong for his actions.
Commenters were unanimous in their condemnation of the manager's actions.
"YTA," voted user SabrinaSpellman1. "That wasn't a prank, you intentionally embarrassed her in front of people. A prank is something silly when you both laugh together, this was mean-spirited, and it humiliated her. You should apologize."
"YTA holy crap," remarked user Logical-Wasabi7402. "She shoves a cupcake in your face, and you basically revenge porn her through her fantasy fanfic? You need to prepare a lawyer."
"Hear me out, I know this sounds bad but YTA." said user penguin squeak.
In an update that was posted a few days ago (starting on item #12) the manager describes what has happened since the initial post. "Sophie" has returned to work and the two have reconciled their issues. Regardless, commenters were sure to let the manager know that they should not be managing people.
