We think, therefore we cringe. It doesn't take a lot of brainpower to instinctively recoil at somebody else doing something icky, and these days it tends to happen with alarming regularity. When we give a peek into our lives and psyche that is a little too revealing, it's only natural for everybody else to want to look away. All of us take things too far sometimes, but unfortunately it is now a lot easier for these moments to be immortalized, thanks to the internet. For some reason, this doesn't make many people that much more careful, and we see the results of this constantly. Cringeworthy behavior is as straightforward to some as breathing, and the rest of us pay for it by being witnesses. If we're not cringing, it's probably us causing the cringe. So the life cycle of cringiness continues. It sure seems like we've been waiting on that meteor for a long time.
