Why is it that every time a new manager enters the equation, crap hits the fan? They always come in with this pompous 'I'm gonna fix everything' attitude, and just end up making things worse. Let's say the company had a rule or two that wasn't necessarily enforced… there is probably a reason for that. People just want to come in, show off, and 'change things for the better'. Sigh. Why fix something if it isn't broken? If the bosses don't care, then why do you?
While scrolling through r/MaliciousCompliance, I happened upon a post that sounded all too familiar, as I have worked in plenty of restaurants before. A manager in food service usually doesn't last long, at least in my experience. So I've seen a lot of them. They all come in, promising a 'New World' and end up enforcing petty rules, and changing up systems that have been historically proven to work. u/Left0fcenterr wrote a post about a frustrating situation she had encountered back in the day when she was working for an Italian restaurant. Her manager was an AH, but she found a way to do as he asked, without technically doing as he asked.
