Monte the Singing Donkey Proves That He Has a Better Falsetto Than Any Other Farm Animal

If you've ever been on a farm in the outskirts of your city or if you've ever watched the 2001 hit classic, Shrek, then you know that donkeys are the jolliest and most friendly furry animals in the world. They're cuddly like cats, protective like dogs, and make the cutest honking sounds when they're excited. One watchful donkey has become Internet famous for his honk-tastic braying and illustrious singing voice, proving once again, that Disney movies aren't the only place where animals can sing like angels.

Monte, the singing donkey, has stolen the hearts of thousands online with his riotous good mornings. His owner goes out onto her property every day, calling for him, and he comes running from far to answer her call. They keep him on their farm not just because of his jovial spirit, but because he protects the livestock on the farm (like the horses, chickens, and piggies). He takes his home protectikno seriously so he sometimes can get pretty far away, but he never misses his morning greeting. Monte sprints with excitement and rumbles his bellowing call, singing his song for all to hear.

What's especially spectacular about Monte isn't that he comes when he's called. What's amazing is that when he answers back, he croons the most pure and majestic noise anyone has ever heard. His singing can be heard for miles, a regal, deep falsetto that warbles over the nearby mountains. Something about his voice is strangely human at the same time. It sounds as if a man's voice is trapped deep inside the body of this hoofed farm buddy.

Monte's singing voice is one of those strange guttural sounds that incredibly endearing at first and super cute when he charges up to his owner with a happy wagging tail. But if you closed your eyes and imagined hearing his song in the dead of night while you walked alone in the forest, you might have a different idea of what you're hearing. Monte's singing voice sometimes seems like the sound that you hear right before getting slaughtered in a slasher movie by a semi-living foe with a mask and a kitchen knife. His voice could be recorded and, without distortion, used as foley for a horror movie. So not only is Monte adorable and a silly goose, he is also not to be trifled with, lest that call haunt you in your dreams.
