It's true: Not everyone can be a brain genius. But despite what Rick and Morty fans might tell you, IQs don't mean much if you don't do anything with them. Take me, for example. My mother made the mistake of telling me my IQ when I was younger (it's the same as Snoop Dogg's, do with that what you will). She had high hopes for me and placed me in gifted programs. Unfortunately, due to my rebellious nature, I ended up dashing her dreams and getting straight Bs throughout my education. Fast forward a decade and a half from my graduation, and here I am, creating middling content and squinting at a screen all day. Here's hoping she didn't count on me curing cancer.
Anyway. You'd think that even people with relatively low IQs would be able to enjoy humor. I know I do, despite going absolutely nowhere in life. Hell, most of my job involves consuming funny stuff. The thing is, having a sense of humor is a form of intelligence all its own, and thanks to Twitter and subreddits like r/woosh, we can see exactly how many people lack that brand of smarts. They simply allow simple jokes to go right over their heads. Instead of letting this kind of stupidity make me worry about the human race, I like to enjoy it as a form of entertainment. Here's hoping you do, too.
