Only on Reddit: "Am I the A$$hole for Getting a Secretly Higher-Paying Job Because of My Husband's Sexist Behavior?"

In today's world, gender equality has become a hot topic of discussion. However, despite the progress that has been made, sexism and misogyny still exist in many workplaces. 

In this context, a woman has turned to Am I the A$$hole on Reddit to ask whether she's in the wrong for secretly getting a new, higher-paying job simply because she was annoyed with her husband's sexist and misogynist behavior after he got a new job where he earned more than her. Her husband was in complete disarray that she took away his "alpha" status by finding a better-paying job.

The woman's post sparked controversy among users, as some feel that she was wrong to keep her job search a secret from her husband. While she had every right to pursue a better-paying job, some argue that her decision to hide it from her partner could be seen as deceitful and potentially harmful to their relationship. Others point out that her husband's sexist and misogynist behavior and constant shutting down and gaslighting whenever she tried to have an honest conversation about said behavior made it impossible to share her job search. The husband's reaction to her new job just proved his motives were always about financial power rather than bettering the household's financials.  

In the end, there was an agreement that their relationship needed a lot of work if they wanted their marriage to survive.
