Since ancient times, owls have been the knowledge gatherers of the gods, seeking hoo-ever should hold new information and learning it from them, whether through negotiation or impressive stealth. Feared and revered by many, the owls are seen as noble and wise creatures and are often used as mediums between the gods and humans.
Though not all see them as noble. The followers of the rodent gods fear them, seeing the owls as omens of darkness and death, and say that seeing one before a battle means a terrible loss will occur. Thus the rodent gods bestowed amazing powers of hiding on their followers, so that they may escape the watchful eyes of the owl priests, who are ever vigilant in their search for knowledge and food.
