Font - Average Hourly Rate Staffing I either have a dishwasher milking the clock or who has no sense of urgency and doesn't care how late he is there. I pay him $15/hr and minimum wage is $13.85 here. Am I allowed to tell him and pay him say, $9/hr once the clock strikes say 10pm while he finishes up the next 30-60 minutes of his work? For his whole shift he would still be making above minimum wage. So the question really is, can I pay him a rate below minimum wage for a part of his shift as lon

Font - dancegoddess1971 • 4h Really. I can make $15/hr almost anywhere around my city. Even just standing at the door of a big box store saying "Welcome to ---- ---!" And this person is being shitty about taking time to properly clean the dishes your customers EAT OFF OF? That time just "standing around" I would bet money is actually soaking crap off the pans. And I don't think I'd be putting up with much BS because literally EVERYWHERE is looking for warm bodies. 246

Font - Linkboy9. 2h I guarantee that if that restaurant owner had a worker who went above and beyond, finished all their work perfectly with time left on the clock, he'd show his "gratitude" by handing them a mop with a cry of "Got time to lean? It's time to clean!" and never once would the realization that his workers are doing the bare minimum because he's incapable of appreciating them regardless of how well they do bloom in his tiny mind. When myself and others are trying to do a decent job of closing a restaurant after working a full shift on our feet, while management sits on their asses bitching about how we're not getting it done fast enough. 129

Font - Elfere 16h First thing I tell everyone in any kitchen I work at. Dishwashers are the most important people. I don't care how fancy or exotic your food is. No one is coming back of you serve it on dirty dishes and I'm forced to eat it with filthy forks. 4427 427
