'I correct her grammar a lot': Condescending husband is surprised to learn that he's a jerk for annoyingly policing wife's grammar to the point of tears

Marriage means you agree to spend the rest of your life loving someone for exactly who they are. That doesn't mean you only love the parts of them that are perfect and correct all the time. It means you also love their quirks, imperfections, and mistakes. You evolved together now and you do it with love and compassion. So if you start nitpicking on little things and calling out your partner for them every single time… Well, that's a good way to show that you are not respecting your wedding vows.

We're not saying marriage is easy and you'll never make mistakes in your relationship, but it's important that you live and you learn. Recently, a husband turned to Reddit to learn if he was truly messing up in his marriage, which is turns out, he most definitely was. The Reddit poster says that he corrects her grammar when speaking "a lot" and he doesn't find it wrong because it's not a big deal. However, in his own words, he does it "a lot." If you're just trying to have a casual conversation with someone you love and they don't even pay attention to what you say and instead nitpick any mispronunciation or grammatical error, then that is going to cultivate a toxic environment. It's not helpful feedback, it's just straight up mean.

Don't worry, the husband got a stern talking to by other Redditors who couldn't were appalled by his behavior. Nobody held back on letting him know how much of an a hole he was being. Instead of responding negatively, however, he posted an update accepting that he was being the AH and thanked everyone for showing him the light. He says he has apologized to his wife multiple times and now intends to work on kicking that rude habit of being the grammar police. See? Sometimes good things do come out of Reddit.
