20 Self-Deprecating Anxiety Memes to Chuckle About With Your Therapist (July 1, 2023)

Overthinkers know that they're being awkward. It's that awkwardness that leads to more overthinking, more weirdness, and more introversion. Although, we live in an era where quirky weirdness is sort of endearing… so that's a plus. We have the alt girls of the early 2000's to thank for that, with their butterfly t-shirts, spiky hairstyles, and get-away-from-me demeanor. Not only did those trailblazers normalize cargo pants, but they made it okay for us anxious weirdos to be or do whatever we want and STILL get the hot guy at the end of the movie. At least, that's what we all thought until we realized as adults, we're not that cute butterfly shirt girl. We're the anxious regular guy on the train with noise cancelling headphones, an obscure anime in hand, and anxiety meds in our backpack. I guess all we grew into was that 'get-away-from-me' attitude. Oh well, I'll just tell my therapist about it and move on.
