Font - Me: Yeah, go on. She: Why did you send CV to this position? Me: (I had no frking clue what this job is about, I sent there CV like 1 week ago) Well, it seemed interesting from what I read on website and it was related to my education.

Font - She: Ok, can you tell me the job description? Me: As I said I don't really remember.
  • 06
Font - She: Do you have work experience? (I am college graduate, I have none) Me: No, just part-time jobs not related to this job.
  • 07
Font - She:What are your ideas about salary? Me: (Again, I didn't remember what was written there). You know, we can start at a minimum which was written on website.

Font - Ok-Mathematician4929 8 hr. ago Protip: whenever I'm on a job hunt and receive a call, I ALWAYS say that I can't talk right now (even if I can), and ask to call in half an hour or schedule for specific time.

Font - Saying "no" even in such a little thing gives a little bit of confidence and it gives me time to take a look at job description/google the company and check which version of cv I sent.

Font - Suitable-Flatworm597. 5 hr. ago This, OP--and everyone reading. You want to take control? Say "No" more often. Learn to do it respectfully and you're already better off than 70% of CEOs out there.

Font - ThunkAsDrinklePeep 2 hr. ago You don't have to say no. Just redirect. Hi, I was just hoping to ask you a couple questions about the job. "I'd love to, but I'm out right now. Can we schedule something a little later when I'm back at my desk?"

Font - Books-and-a-puppy 5 hr. ago I had to start doing this. One time a woman said she received my resume and had a few questions. Then went into a full blown phone interview while I'm doing chores and cleaning my house.

Font - beatlefreak_1981.5 hr. ago Good tip. I screen my calls with voicemail where they will detail who they are and what company they are with, which gives me time to prepare and call them back at my convenience.

Font - gothictulle 1 hr. ago I've heard on here from HR people that a lot of them don't leave messages and just reject someone for not answering their phone. I think it's ridiculous but it came from the horse Mouth.
