Font - Posted by u/tunachapman 1 day ago the worst people S the worst people are those who ask if they can switch seats with you on the plane so they can sit at the window (or if their child can switch with you). so entitled, especially when they are rude or salty after you say no.

Font - BitchLibrarian - 1 day ago I had a guy who thought it was OK to put his cabin luggage in my footwell. He was in the middle seat of 3 and his female companion was in the window seat. I boarded pretty much last since I try to take underseat luggage and knew I could just walk to my aisle seat and slide my bag under the seat and sit down.

Font - Except Mr "I'm too tall for underseat luggage" had put his bag in my footwell and thought I was unreasonable when I asked him to move it. I simply refused to sit and called a flight attendant. I got my footwell for my own bag and the attendant offered to put his

Font - Dietpepsiwithlegs 19 hr. ago. It only makes a small difference at first, but if everyone did what you did and refused to cave to these a holes, it would literally fix all the world's problems. For those about to be a B..chLibrarian, I salute you.

Font - DynkoFromTheNorth 2 min. ago Awesome! And yes, I read so many stories about people who purchase a ticket with an extra charge for more leg room and then people come and almost demand that you switch with them because they need that extra room more than you. Gets my blood boiling.

Font - FaustsAccountant 22 hr. ago About 10 years ago I had an extreme version of this happen. I don't look my age, folks always assume I'm much younger than I am. I was able to snag a business class aisle seat. A woman comes up to me and asks me to switch seats with her so she can sit with her husband. He was able to upgrade and she wasn't.
  • 09
Font - What? Her economy middle seat way back? No, thank you for trying but I'm keeping my seat. She persisted and seeing I wasn't budging, she got loud. Started to make a scene. Even trying to play the card of shaming me for sitting next to someone else's husband. Then doubling with "you're just a kid! You don't deserve a business class seat! What business are you even flying to? Do you have a job?!"

Font - The flight attendants finally asked her to sit down so we could push back. The moment we got to cruising altitude and the seat belt sign went off, she was instantly at my side yelling at me again. The whole time her husband just sat there silently (pretending?) to read his newspaper.
  • 11
Font - I tried to get the flight attendant's attention but they also ignored us. Literally just squeezed by, avoiding eye contact. About what seemed like 30 mins of this another passenger yelled at her to go sit down in her seat.
  • 12
Font - So the whole entire rest of the 3.5 hour flight she found every reason to get up and come stand over to interact with her husband, and each time threw a insult comment at me. "Bill I need your pen." "Bill, I need a different pen." "Bill, I want a pencil instead" "Bill, give me a section of your newspaper." "Bill, did you tell the kennel we'll be back next week?" "Bill, I want the other part of the bla bla bla

Font - Valuable-Mess-4698 11 hr. ago ● I'm also team aisle, and very much plan ahead. My last flight first class and premium economy were both full, so I bought an exit row aisle. Some jack wanted me to trade him my exit route aisle seat for a middle seat in the very last row. His excuse was that he's tall and needs the leg room, and I'm "a woman and don't need it".
  • 14
Font - Well, first genius, I DO actually need it because I have insanely long legs and am actually fairly tall for a woman (just look short when sitting because of said long legs). Second, I need it because I paid for it, so go f yourself in your middle seat by the bathroom. Next time plan better and stop making it other peoples problem that you're cheap and/or can't plan ahead.

Font - I just said "No." And put earbuds in. He continued to b h as long as he was in earshot.

Font - She didn't speak much English, but he asked if he could sit there so he could look at the view, and she needed to be able to go to the toilet easily. I thought, f it, this must be a big trip for both of them, I'll be a good guy here.

Font - He basically talked to me the entire flight and was a really nice kid BUT after a while it transpired that not only were his parents and uncle in the row in front (but didn't want to give up their seats), but also it was the THIRD F TO C G TIME THEY'D ALL BEEN ING EURODISNEY
  • 19
Font - Also he told me right at the end that sometimes his dad pays him to not talk, or holds a pillow over his face to shut him up. After another few minutes of nonstop chat, I jokingly put my plane cushion over his face - and of course that's the first time in an eleven hour flight that his mum turns round to look at us...

Font - Huan_the_hound1 · 22 hr. ago I had a window seat on a flight to Philadelphia. When I got to my row I noticed a woman sitting in it, so I was like hey I think you might be in the wrong seat and showed her my ticket. She refused to move and just looked at me and said, "what difference does it make, we're all going to Philly." Idk why but I'll never forget the way she said it to me.

Font - CO ghjkl098 1 day ago I have no issues with them asking to swap if they are offering an equivalent or better seat in exchange. I'm certainly not swapping to a worse seat. 88 Reply Share bootyfischer 16 hr. ago That's pretty much my philosophy.

Font - I had a lady one time ask me if I would switch with her husband and I told her as long as it's an aisle seat, otherwise no since I paid extra to sit on the aisle. She immediately gets all rude and p...y at me as if it's my fault they didn't book their seats together.
  • 23
Font - The kicker is she eventually went to go to the bathroom and stopped to talk to her husband on the way back - who was sitting in an aisle seat. I look back like? If you had just listened to the words coming out of my mouth you would have gotten what you wanted.

Font - 18k_gold 11 hr. ago ● I was on my honeymoon, booked last minute, my fault. We weren't seated together going. I asked the guy in the middle seat if he wanted to switch with my wife who had an aisle seat. He got so angry and started to lecture me. I was like dude chill no is fine you don't need to get all angry about it.
  • 25
Font - I'm not giving you a hard time and I only asked once. So I went over to where she was sitting and I asked her middle seat person if she wanted to switch with me for an aisle seat? She jumped up and was like yep I will take an aisle seat.
  • 26
Font - I took her over to my seat as I was leaving all I heard was the guy complaining to her about me asking him to switch. She probably regretted switching with me.

Font - ● NothingAndNow111 1 day ago I was thrilled to bits the last time someone asked if I... Well he asked if I wanted to switch seats, which is different considering the phrasing. I 100% wanted the window but

Font - none were available when I booked, so I resigned myself to aisle. When I got there he said he goes to the bathroom a lot and if it would bother me, we could switch. Total stroke of luck on my part. I think it's ok to ask - VERY VERY POLITELY - and if told 'no' then just accept it and thank them anyway.

Font - [deleted] 1 day ago Our son is 6'5" so we always pay for extra legroom seats for him. It never fails, families ALWAYS ask him to switch seats so they can "not be separated." It is so annoying.

Font - Due_Spare532 . 1 day ago Right! I get that a person may ask, because it's possible you don't have a preference.
  • 31
Font - But to feel entitled, as though you couldn't possibly WANT the window seat also. If you both want a window seat, there's no point in tossing a coin to see who gets it when one of you already has it. It's not rocket science.
