When you start getting your paycheck later and later, know that you are aboard a sinking ship. No company that has its finances in order is paying its employees at the latest possible date.
A Redditor, u/heyomeatballs, was working a WFH customer service job for three years and was the only employee in the entire customer service department, which should probably already tell you a lot of what you need to know. OP stated that in the beginning, the job was actually pretty good, and the pay was decent. But what began as good quickly spiraled into an absolute nightmare, as it quickly became clear as day that there was a huge lack of communication between departments.
OP wasn't contacted for weeks by anyone, and most of the departments didn't even know that they had customer service. One day, the skies darkened, and OP was being paid late. The company excused it and told OP they didn't need to pay them on time, nor did they have to release the reason why they were paying them late. Suspicious, much?
Customer complaints began piling up, and people weren't getting their orders. Where there is smoke, there is a fire… and this fire turns out to be huge. If you thought that was bad, it gets worse. OP wasn't allowed to give anyone a refund because the company said that they couldn't afford it. At this point, OP began looking for another job but was having some trouble finding one.
The straw that broke the camel's back was money that was missing from OP's checks. Below you'll find a detailed account of the events. Next, an employee got home from vacation, only to find out that their promotion had been taken from them, and they were fired.
