Sometimes, you're forced to take the long road in order to get even with those who have wronged you, going full "Count of Monte Cristo." All we're saying is that you should be careful how you treat people who are on the way up… because you might see them again on the way back down.

This worker shared that they once worked for a senior sales team as a junior salesperson, but unfortunately, they experienced mistreatment at the hands of the head of sales, and their hard-earned bonus was stolen. They were eventually fired and went on to work for a smaller firm where they thrived.

Fast forward a few years, and they found themselves face-to-face with their former boss, who now worked for their current firm. The user decided to quietly inform their superior of their terrible experience working with them. They also discovered that the other senior member of the original team they reported to was now selling a basic product at a new firm. After pretending to be interested in the pitch, they revealed their true plan and pulled all their business from the firm where their old boss worked—giving it to a competitor instead, resulting in her being fired from her job.
