It must be difficult to be a barista if you don't like to make coffee. Or to be clear, it seems like some baristas look down on anyone who doesn't like their coffee black. They seemingly have a personal vendetta against the vast majority of coffee drinkers who don't want their bean juice to be bitter and scalding. Lots of people love frappes or lattes or any number of blended coffee drinks beverages, and this love is fueled by social media "secret menu" hacks.
When social media was in its younger years, a single drink would keep the nation in its' grip for weeks. The bright pink unicorn drink was one of these popular beverages. But its real secret was that it tasted horrible! The bright pink monstrosity photographed well for social media, but it was so sickeningly sweet that no one could stomach the thing.
Now, there are probably hundreds of made-up "secret menu" drinks created by social media users. Baristas seem to really dislike making these creations. Instead of the dozens of drinks they've had to memorize for their job, they're now forced to make drinks with like 37 ingredients. And I'm sure these baristas know that the drinks will be photographed or videoed and them immediately thrown out… because that "Snickers frap" or "rose gold refresher" is cute, but also really nasty tasting.
This person encountered a barista who they really didn't see eye-to-eye with. They shared their story of malicious compliance---check out the whole story for yourself and see who you think is in the right in this scenario. Then, take a peek at another malicious compliance tale.
