When we're up in the air, small things become big things; maybe it's the sleep deprivation, maybe it's the hours and hours of waiting and standing in line and poor treatment from security we've endured. Whatever it is, when you're spending hours crammed into a far-too-small seat on a noisy plane, that person with the relentless cough, the dude playing music out loud from the speaker of his phone, and the person behind you kicking your seat just often enough that it's keeping you from falling asleep suddenly become insufferable. Is it reasonable to feel this way about these small transgressions? Probably not. But reason often isn't reality when it comes to air travel.
By no means should your takeaway from this post be that it's ok to go around drenching and possibly ruining other people's things; rather, just treat it as catharsis for our joint frustrations when dealing with an annoying fellow passenger.
