Hey, friends! Are you all familiar with the "not my cat" phenomenon? In various forms, it manifests—the unmistakable presence of a cat, unmistakably not your own, making an appearance in your personal space. Residing in a city teeming with stray feline inhabitants, I cross paths with numerous "not my cat" scenarios during my daily routine. Regrettably, not all of these feline wanderers can evolve from being "not my cat" to becoming "my cat." Nevertheless, I shower them with treats and affection. We, as humans, are hardly deserving of the companionship of cats. We fall short of their majestic presence, and our best recourse is to wholeheartedly cherish them, embracing their capricious feline allure.
Encountering a 'not my cat' unfolds as a uniquely delightful experience. Initially, it warms the heart—a feeling of being selected and honored as the chosen sanctuary for the feline's fleeting visit. Go ahead and enjoy this splendidly silly selection of "not my cats."

"Found this little cat in a car park nowhere near any houses. He just kept meowing and following me. It was -2°C. He's with me now until I can get him to the vet to check if he is chipped. Poor baby."
"We took him to the vet, he is neutered and well fed but not chipped. This suggests he has been a pet, but was dumped. ?? You can't tell from the picture, but the ground was covered in black ice. He must have been so cold.
With the help of a cat loving colleague, we tried our best to find his owner, and then made the decision to contact a charity for rehoming. I never knew N.Ireland had such a fantastic cat community, he was adopted into a lovely family within a day!
The bottom photo is him snuggled up on the sofa in his new house.
I nicknamed him Archbishop Robinson, because the estate he was found in was established by Archbishop Robinson in the 1700s."
"I don't know who this guy belongs to but I am visited regularly! Always here to take a peek into my flat."
"Found this little fellow out in below freezing weather last night. He's unchipped and unneutered. The vet speculates he's been dumped for spraying since he's an adolescent kitten. He's very friendly and sweet, and we've taken to calling him Lucas the Spider. If we don't find an owner in the next few months, we're going to keep him and fix/chip him. So I guess he will be my cat after all."
"Her name is Raptor, her parents are my landlords. My apartment is connected to the main house and somehow she manages to sneak through 2 doors when it's time for cuddles. We call her my mistress kitty!"
"First we called her Creepy Tom because she was always peeping in our windows, but once we realized she was our neighbor's cat and she was a girl it morphed into Creepy Tammy. Moved away from this apartment long ago, but I hope she's doing well and still cute and creepy!"
"Little kitty was just sleepy from the hard day at the first day back to school"
"Looks like a silhouette of a black cat on her face too. Extraordinarily beautiful one. Luckily neighbours also chipped in to get her spayed. She is now very well fed and sometimes kills mice and birds in the bush near the buildings we live in."
"This cat would come by every other day and sit on the wall in front of my window. I'm now leaving this apartment because said wall blocked out the sun completely, making it dark at all times, summer or winter. I'll miss this chonk though, so here are some pretty pictures I took of her a few days before moving."
"2nd cat was such a sweet girl and would visit the airbnb everyday. she's the reason I adopted my own tabby a week after I came home"
