For the longest time, when it came to the world of unofficial merchandise The Simpsons was the unabashed king. There was just something about Springfield that inspired some truly deranged knock-offs that were as entertaining as they were of dubious quality.
I guess the counterfeiting industry has a thing for little yellow guys because one franchise that provides some hefty competition is that of SpongeBob SquarePants. Whether you're designing a crummy kid's t-shirt or looking to open a restaurant, the cartoon sea creatures that defined many of our childhoods are the perfect muse.
We only have to look at the examples below to see the range of products they can be used to flog—so long as copyright is evaded, of course.
