Working out is all fun and games until you actually feel like you're going to die. Whenever I'm hitting a good workout, for the first 20 minutes I feel on top of the world. There's a spring in my step, I'm glad I showed up, and I'm thinking about pushing myself a little harder. I add resistance on the bike, I add weights, and I go a little faster. But that soon wears off and I'm left with a burning deep in my lungs, a feeling that my heart might pop, and an overwhelming desire to stop. It's because I go too hard in the beginning. I overestimate my ability to feel good and then it all comes crashing down.
The key, though, is to push through that moment because on the other side lies an incredible feeling: the post-workout euphoria. Everything makes sense, and you're proud of yourself. Maybe these gym memes will give you that same feeling.
