It was so strange. She spent half an hour ecstatic that I fit the role so well. She thought I had a wide range of skills and we discussed how I could apply them in the day-to-day of the job. She talked about how well-suited I was for the role. I thought it was going so well!

But then maybe half an hour in, she turned. She started calling my background "distracted" and "irrelevant" even though it was entirely relevant. (I've worked in catalog production in museums as well as at art book publishers, this was a gallery assistant role requiring experience with design and publications work.) She then called me "titleless" and accused me of not having a true goal for my career based on my work history. ???????????????????????????????????????? ???? I spent the second half

Wise-Air-1326 • 21h I used to be a part of the interview panel for the company I worked at, and one of the people on the panel thought she was some brilliant interviewer. She would ask stupid questions that had nothing to do with the job. It was literally one step short of astrological questions. Another guy, would ask questions like "You're stuck in an empty water pitcher and you're only 2 inches tall. There's one other person with you that's also 2 inches tall. What do you do?" As if it was so

mmcksmith - 20h • If I wasn't desperate I'd respond "is this a common problem at your organization? Is there perhaps a better question that would gather the same information you seek?" Actually, since I'm an analyst I'd probably do that regardless lol 313

CrockerNye 1d Why are we supposed to have some 30 year "career goal" as if there's nothing more important on earth than being some suit and tie phony? I work to get the money I need and that's that. I don't need an excess of it, I don't need a 30 year plan that will take me into retirement. White collar culture is weird as ← Reply 606

ThrowRA9876545678 OP 23h I got a similar complaint! She was mad I didn't have a bachelor's in art history, but I'd just finished a Master's in art history. She was asking me how many total credits my undergraduate degree was worth and stuff. Like ... lady... I don't know! Nobody has that stuff memorized. ... 296

mrstarkinevrfeelgood. 22h That literally doesn't even matter. There's a standard minimum of credits. There's no bonus for going over it. 132
