Oldie but a goodie from when I worked front desk. The hotel is pretty upscale and sits on a marina in Charleston, SC (this is relevant).

The happy couple check in the night before the wedding and I just knew they'd be a handful but still seriously underestimated them. First night (wedding eve),

they keep calling for maintenance bc they can't get the fireplace to turn on or the jets in the tub to work (turns out the trick is to press "on"). Then the complaints of loud | start rolling in, followed by complaints of heated arguing.

Survived night one - wedding day is here. They get married on a boat with mainly the groom's family on board. The bride got so dk they literally ditched her at the | marina. One of the dock hands finds her, 80s dress and all,

wandering the boat slips. We send security to help her but they can't find her. While they're searching, she stumbles into the lobby bare footed and losing her ☐,

grabbing every guest that had the misfortune of walking by and sobbing to them. She nearly ruined a guest's Versace suit crying on his arm (unsolicited and very awkwardly). Luckily he was a good sport. Before security can make it back, the groom shows up. They proceed to have a public argument and makeup (with plenty of PDA)

for all to see. Security finally rescued me and gets them to their room. The last of the fun was more noise complaints of loud ☐ and arguing. Security pretty much had to set up camp on their floor. I'm sure they're still happily married to this day 300e

motor1_is_stopping. LOL, a few years ago I stayed at a hotel in Charleston next to a marina for a wedding. Wedding was on a plantation, not a boat, so not this party.

One night, another guest that had to leave in the morning gave us their left over booze. Cases of it. Champagne, beer, whisky, everything you can imagine. They said that they couldn't take it home and wanted somebody to enjoy it. We happily accepted, and gave it to the front desk employees when we checked out - well, what was left. It was a fun weekend.

SuitableJelly5149 OP. So many of the weddings here were next level. Another one of my favorites was a guest passed out drunk halfway in, halfway out the elevator on the lobby floor. The doors were legit opening and closing on this woman for about 5 min until her husband finally got a luggage cart to put her on. I almost peed myself laughing so hard

EffortAutomatic8804. Two of my favourite pastimes combined - tales from the hotel industry and stories about bridezillas. Wonderful 201

SuitableJelly5149 OP. She def ties for #1 bride from my years at the desk. The other #1 offered security cocaine and got arrested on her wedding night. She was locked out of her room with no ID & protocol was to have security walk the guest up to check ID (we had 3-4 brides a weekend so keeping their rooms straight wasn't as straightforward as it'd seem). She decided that'd be a great time to Scarface a line and figured sharing was caring. Sadly, it was not...

mesembryanthemum. Since I'm night audit I miss most of the drama. So I missed the bride and groom who got into a huge fight in the middle, of the wedding reception and she went home with mom.

I missed the big rehearsal dinner fight that ended up in the lobby with her screaming that she hated him. That his mother and sisters were horrible harpies. That she was pregnant and she didn't know if he was the father. Etc., etc. I was specifically told by management that if any guest from the wedding wanted to check out early NOT to charge them an early departure fee because the fight was that spectacular. They then HAD the wedding (why???) and I'm told their reception was booked for 190 peop

The wedding guests - parents and what was a roughly college age son - who decided to have a huge fight in the middle of the parking lot. A guest called 911 on them. (Management wanted to know why I didn't send security down to diffuse it. Because the first I heard of the issue was the police showing up; no one called us to complain and security was dealing with an issue on the other side, of the property.)

ColdstreamCapple. I thought you were going to say she literally fell into the harbour and came back into the hotel looking like something that had been dragged through the swamp

Well look at it this way at least it's an entertaining story to tell! Years ago a friend of mine worked for one of the large Las Vegas casino hotels on the Las Vegas strip and some of the stories he has to tell!!! At least it kept the days and nights interesting!!
