'Having a graduation party. Please supply me!': Top Choosing Beggars of the Week (May 31, 2024)

Whether it's replacing furniture and appliances or planning graduation parties and gender reveals, the choosing beggars of the world have been out to play this week.

For many folks, summer is the time for rest and relaxation. For others, it's a time of desperation. A family friend of mine organizes a yard sale every summer, and it always seems like the people who ruin the whole experience year after year are the choosing beggars that pop up out of nowhere demanding the quality of luxury brands for free. This year, she has no interest in organizing her yard sale, and for that, we have those choosing beggars to blame.

Why have these entitled people gotten so much worse in recent years? It could be the proliferation of branded content on the internet and the subsequent materialism that comes with that. It could be the downside of people not caring what other folks think, which is to say that they now feel entitled to make alarming demands. Or perhaps choosing beggars have always and will always exist, and it is our job to call them out until they finally cease.
