We spend most of our life at work with our colleagues. We probably spend more time with them than our significant others. Of course, most of that time is not particularly valuable, but amidst lunch breaks, coffees in the break room, and walks to the train station, it is only natural to grow closer. Having someone to complain to, have inside jokes with, and rely on can be extremely comforting. There is really nothing wrong with having a workplace bestie, but there do exist lines that can be crossed. Once someone starts calling their coworker 'work wife' or 'work husband,' it can be a massive red flag that they're tightrope walking on the line between a platonic friendship and something more.
