'The cat is gonna steal the baby's breath': Overprotective Parents Force Daughter to Get Rid of Her Cat Because Her Sister Had a Baby, She Refuses, and the Internet Comes to Her Defense

Look, when it comes to parents and cats… it can be a little bit of a struggle. Some parents love cats and are pawfectly happy when their kids bring one home, but that's not truly for everyone. Some moms will claim to hate cats… and when fall in love with the one you bring home. Some dads will say that they hate cats… and then yes, fall in love with the one you bring home. And some parents will ask their neighbors to get rid of their cat because their kids are allergic to it… no wholesomeness here, some parents are just weird about cats. 

And that's definitely the case here. This may be the first time that we have ever heard a parent say that a cat will 'steal the newborn baby's breath'. That's a weird one. And a new one. Thankfully, this cat owner looks to be doing the right thing and keeping their furbaby.

    My cat stays in my room, always had. But my little sister had a baby and now all of a sudden i have to get rid of him?? That has NOTHING to do with me and my cant. “The cat is gonna steal the babies breath"

    We have honestly never heard anyone say stuff like this about a cat. The cat is gonna steal the baby's breath? We don't know if that's superstitious or something else, we just know that it is ridiculous, and we are so glad that this cat owner can see that and is not giving up on him.

    "cats jump on everything "WHAT DOES MY ANIMAL THAT I LOVE HAVE TO DO WITH SOMEONE ELSE?!? MY step dad is trying to say he can get them leashes and flea collars so they can sit outside...they arent dogs dogs dont even need to sit outside all the time. I dont know what to do and i shouldn't have to get rid of my animals because of someone else.

    Cats are like family. You make it work. Not all cats get along with all babies, but that doesn't mean that you just throw the cat out! You keep them separated if you have to, supervised, and you make it work.

    Program_Mental OP. 4 days ago She doesnt care. When she came into my room she asked what was wrong and when she realized why i was upset she said "oh" and walked out. She doesnt care for how i feel at all.
