You would think that dangerous inclement weather would give some employers pause before demanding their employees come to work. However, the expectation of generosity among the higher-ups at any company will almost always lead to widespread disappointment.
In this instance, we have a team of employees expecting their boss to acknowledge the upcoming hurricane and protect their safety by allowing them to work from home or have the week off. Unfortunately, their boss's response left much to be desired. He merely posted a note telling employees to prepare themselves, bring changes of clothes, and budget extra time for traveling. There was no cancellation of work whatsoever and no suggestion that it could happen should conditions worsen. One can imagine how this team of employees responded to this empty and clueless note. In fact, this manager will be lucky if all the members of his team stay at the company by the end of the week.
