Welcome back internet enthusiasts. When a woman is going to be in labor, it's a very emotional, vulnerable, and intimate position she's in. Doctors are running around you, nurses are injecting you with foreign objects, and it's important to have your safety net of people there to comfort you while you're in such an uncomfortable situation. It's the woman's body, therefore it's the woman's choice who she wants and doesn't want in the delivery room with her. No one can speak for her, and no one will let in someone she doesn't want. But here's where the issue arises.
In this Reddit thread, the husband insists on his mother being in the delivery room with them, to be met by shock from his wife. She tells him she's uncomfortable with it (I think anyone would be), and his retort: It's my baby too, can't I also have family in the room? Selfish doesn't even cut it with this guy. Sure, it's your baby, but it's not your body. He's not birthing it with his heels in stirrups, struggling physically, mentally, and emotionally, while someone just watches. I can't agree with this woman more.
