‘They got all huffy and left’: Server goes off on boomer guests after they sit themselves at a table and demand service, despite being told repeatedly to wait

When you go out to eat at a restaurant, do you wait at the entrance for someone to seat you, or do you go inside on your own and just sit at an available table? If the first option is your answer, congratulations, you are a decent human being. However, If you behave like the second option, we recommend you reconsider your choices in life, as that is simply not okay.

The server in this Reddit story had to deal with some entitled guests who refused to wait to be seated. Despite clearly noticing that the restaurant was busy, and despite the 'Please wait to be seated' sign, the two women chose a random table and sat there until they were noticed. The server, who had a lot to deal with, told the women there was a 15-minute wait until they could be served, but that didn't stop them from pestering the server every minute.

    line. The other guests saw these demanding service when you hadn't even seated the guests who arrived before them. The fact that you took care of the problem is wonderful. As a guest, I would have tipped you well also. don't stop at abusing the employees. They also poff the other customers.

    It's crazy to me that some people are so unaware of how a restaurant operates...lol. I've also been in the industry for like 10 years, so maybe some people just don't get it. I chalk it up to "street smarts" and "book smarts". A better term for "street smarts" would be "basic life skills and social awareness".

    dmdc256 OP • 7h ago To be honest I was so busy and I had so many booths open I wasn't that worried about it, I was just bound to determined they were not going to go in front of everybody else.
